Definition and basic functions
The replenishment valve SSV is mainly used to control the replenishment process of the liquid. It is a valve that plays a key role in various liquid systems (such as industrial liquid circulation systems, hydraulic systems, cooling systems, etc.). Its basic function is to open when the liquid level or pressure of the system is lower than the set value, allowing liquid to enter the system from an external source to maintain the amount of liquid or pressure required for the normal operation of the system.
Structural features
Valve body structure: The body of the replenishment valve SSV is usually made of a metallic material, such as cast iron, cast steel or stainless steel. Its shape design according to the specific application scenarios and flow requirements, generally cylindrical or cuboid shape. The interior of the valve body contains channels and chambers for the liquid, which ensure that the liquid can flow in a predetermined path. For example, in some large industrial cooling systems, the valve body may be relatively large and the internal passages are spacious to accommodate a large coolant flow.
Spool Assembly: The spool is the core component to control the flow of liquid. It can be spherical, conical or cylindrical in shape. The valve core is matched with the valve seat inside the valve body to control the opening and closing of the liquid channel and the flow rate by moving or rotating. The valve core is usually made of wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant materials, such as alloy steel or ceramic materials. In some high-precision replenishment valves SSV, the surface accuracy of the spool is high to ensure good sealing.
Control elements: The replenishment valve SSV is equipped with a control element to detect the liquid level or pressure state of the system. This may be a float sensor, a pressure sensor, etc. The float sensor is used in the replenishment valve for liquid level control. When the liquid level drops, the float drops and the valve core is triggered to open; the pressure sensor is used to control the valve according to the system pressure. When the pressure is lower than the set value, The sensor sends a signal to make the valve core move. In addition, there are some auxiliary control components, such as springs, which are used to provide the force for the valve core to reset to ensure that the valve is closed under normal conditions.
Working principle
Level control type: When the system is based on level control, a float sensor monitors the liquid level. For example, in a reservoir, the float is at a high level at normal liquid level and the replenishment valve SSV is closed. When the liquid level drops to a certain extent, the float drops, and the valve core is driven away from the valve seat by the connecting rod mechanism or other transmission methods to open the liquid channel. External liquid enters the system under the action of gravity or pressure difference, causing the liquid level to rise. When the liquid level returns to the set height, the float rises and the spool closes the channel again.
Pressure control type: Pressure sensors play a key role in systems where pressure is the control factor. It is assumed that in a hydraulic system, when the system pressure is lower than the set minimum pressure value, the pressure sensor transmits a signal to the control unit of the makeup valve SSV. The control unit drives the valve core to open the liquid inlet channel, and the high-pressure liquid source (such as hydraulic pump) adds liquid to the system until the system pressure returns to the set normal pressure range. At this time, the valve core is closed and the liquid replenishment is stopped.
Application areas
Industrial cooling system: In many industrial production processes, such as steel smelting, chemical reactions, etc., a large amount of coolant is required to maintain the normal temperature of the equipment. The makeup valve SSV is used in the reservoir of the cooling system to ensure a stable coolant level. For example, in the cooling system of an automobile engine, the replenishment valve SSV can automatically replenish the coolant when the coolant level is too low to prevent the engine from overheating.
Hydraulic system: In the hydraulic system of construction machinery, machine tools and other equipment, the replenishment valve SSV can maintain the pressure and volume of the hydraulic oil. When the hydraulic system due to leakage or other reasons, the hydraulic oil is reduced and the pressure drops, the replenishment valve SSV replenishes the hydraulic oil in time to ensure the normal operation of the hydraulic system. For example, the hydraulic lifting system of a forklift may use this valve.
Water supply system: In some small water supply systems or special water storage equipment, the replenishment valve SSV is used to keep the water level stable. For example, in the roof water tank of some buildings, the replenishment valve SSV can automatically replenish tap water according to the water level of the water tank to meet the water demand of users.
